TAG: Why Do You Wear Makeup?

1. When did you begin loving makeup?

I first started wearing makeup when I was 14. My skin started to get red in places and i really didnt like it so i brought some foundation and concealer. Until I Started college at 16, I would only really wear foundation and a little bit of mascara. I then started to expand my collection and buy more lipsticks and eyeshadows.  I think it's safe to say i'm hooked now haha

 

2. How do you feel without makeup?

I honestly feel good. Sometimes I do like to go all out with red lipstick, extra long eyelashes and eyeliner, but most days I just wear concealer, foundation, mascara and a sheer lipstick. My skin gets very red and it kind of makes me feel self concious. I am thankful for concealer to hide this!

3. What do you like about makeup?

I like that it can completely transform your look and make you feel confident about yourself. I know personally it gives me that extra bit of confidence when i'm not feeling good about myself.

4. Three holy grail items?

1. Benefit erase paste - I have only recently discovered this product but it is amazing! I have quite dark circles and this little product easily conceals them. I actually have this in the confessions of a concealaholic box. This has definately became a staple for me. (blog post to follow for a review on this)

2. Maybelline colossal volum' esxpress - This mascara is actually really good. I will definately be repurchasing this item. I find I only need a few coats and my eyelashes look voluminous and long(the look i love). The staying power is really good too!

3. MUA Lipsticks  - I am obsessed with lipsticks. It's really hard to pick my favourite one but one of my favourite ones has to be the MUA ones. At only a pound each, you can't really go wrong. The staying power is good and the colours are lovely too. (I have a review here about MUA)

MUA review

The other day, I was in Superdrug having a good old mooch as you do. I came across a MUA stand, otherwise known as Makeup Academy. I have seen various reviews on this brand, most of them have been really positive. So I thought I would give the brand a try, I ended up purchasing a few things from the range. The first was the 'Heaven and earth eyeshadow palette'. The colours are absolutely beautiful and can be used daily for a natural look. The pigmentation is amazing, something I would not expect from such a cheap palette, It was amazing for £4.

I also picked up two lipsticks, shade 2 and shade 3 (I wish MUA would have had names for the colours but still). I think the packaging is actually pretty and I quite like it. At only £1 each, I was surprised at how highly pigmented these lipsticks were. The colours are really pretty too, The lipsticks were surprisingly moisturising also, Bonus!

Lastly, I brought a single eyeshadow (Also cost £1) in shade 11. It's sort of a taupe kind of colour, again the pigmentation was really good. again, I do wish MUA would create names for their colours but at £1 a pop, you can't really complain. The packaging is simple, but good. I have found that they do tend to break if they are left in your bag (I brought one a few months back and it broke) but as it stays in my make up draw it stays pretty :)

     Overall MUA have really impressed me and I will definitely be purchasing more from this brand!
